I still remember the night Season 9: Zombies Are Back went live at 5 PM PT on October 12. It is 2026 now, and I have survived a whole pile of Halloween events since then, but that season still hits me right in the nostalgia bone. No cap, it was spooky szn done proper: zombies, a haunted vineyard, a battle pass packed with goodies, and enough mythic flex material to make my squad go big yikes in the best way.

I started with the Battle Pass grind, because that is just how I am. The free track was not playing around: the classic remote-detonated C4 landed at Tier 14, and the new Krig 6 Assault Rifle showed up at Tier 21. I remember telling my crew, 'C4 first, Krig later, then we get spicy.' The free rewards also tossed in camos, Weapon Blueprints, and the Misty Seas Calling Card, which I slapped on immediately like a tryhard with something to prove.

The premium pass was where the Halloween fantasy went full send. I am talking Operator Skins like Kui Ji — Sapporo Stealth, Domino — Carbon Smoke, Zero — Dark Sails, and Merc 5 — Sea Monster. The Weapon Blueprints for the ICR-1, SKS, GKS, Chopper, and the new Krig 6 made every loadout feel like a cursed treasure chest. I may have spent too long mixing and matching skins, but hey, fashion is the true endgame. 💀

Then came the main event: Zombies returned with not one but two modes. Zombies Classic dropped me into Shi No Numa, aka the Swamp of Death, and I was instantly reminded that I am not as brave as I pretend to be in voice chat. My squad and I ran rounds, grabbed Perks, and fed the Mystery Box like it owed us money. There is a special kind of panic when the undead are closing in, your ammo is low, and someone yells 'clutch or kick.' Good times, genuinely.

Super Attack of the Undead was the chaotic little gremlin of the season. Everyone starts as survivors until one player is randomly chosen to join the undead, and then the match keeps rolling until the last human or zombie is standing. Both sides gained new capabilities as the match progressed, so the vibe check got real intense, real fast. I had one match where I hid like a bush camper, felt sus about every corner, and still got one-tapped at the end. Big yikes, but I queued again immediately.

Haunted Hacienda was the new Multiplayer map, and it was chef's kiss for Halloween energy. The lavish vineyard estate got a ghostly makeover, complete with a spooky set of ships anchored just off the lakefront. I fought through the mansion, got clapped from the central courtyard more times than I care to admit, and generally loved every second of the evening-lit estate chaos. It was the kind of map where you keep your head straight or become nightmare fuel for somebody else's highlight reel.

The Haunted Voyage themed event gave me a sweet-tooth excuse to grind. I played matches and completed daily and weekly objectives in Multiplayer and Battle Royale to earn Halloween Coins, then used those coins to draw Halloween Candies. Different candies gave different points, and the rewards were worth the hoarding:

Reward What I Remember
Parachute — Sapphire Skulls Instant spooky drip
HS0405 — Electric Eel A shockingly good blueprint
Rytec AMR — Blue Skeletons Sniper flex with skeleton style
Battle Hardened — Neon Fire Operator skin that popped

Players who topped the event Leaderboard earned extra rewards, so yes, I absolutely completed objectives and hoarded treats like a loot goblin. Seasonal Challenges also kept me busy with new Weapon Blueprints, Operator Skins, and up to 30,000 Battle Pass XP. One challenge unlocked the new Underbarrel Stun Gun attachment for the Pharo SMG, which felt like a sneaky little bonus for anyone who likes to make enemies rage in close quarters.

The Store update was pure Halloween bait. The Cold Embrace Mythic Draw featured the Krig 6 — Ice Drake Mythic-rarity Assault Rifle alongside the Legendary Dark Shepherd — Arctic Death Skin. I remember staring at that draw like it was a cursed artifact. Other Legendary Draws included Type 25 — Hell's Horse with Naga — Ghost of War, Thumper — Surprise Party with Gunzo — Devil Jester, Swordfish — Aquatic Slayer with Jackal — Aquatic Reaper, and Pharo — Submarine-008 with Manta Ray — Bulletproof Diver. Even in 2026, when I see a Krig 6 blueprint in a modern lobby, I flash back to that Cold Embrace draw and get a little misty-eyed. GGs, Season 9. You were goated in my book.
